About Us

About The Firm Fitness

Founded in 1995, The Firm Fitness was built on a simple idea: great training happens when great trainers are free to do their best work. Located in Crispin Square in Marlton, NJ, we're a private training facility — not a big-box gym. No crowds, no gimmicks, no cookie-cutter programs.

What makes us different is our model. Every trainer at The Firm is an independent professional who runs their own business under our roof. They set their own rates, build their own client relationships, and train on their own terms. That means when you work with a trainer here, you're getting someone fully invested in your results — not an employee punching a clock.

Our space is designed for serious work: strength training, performance, body composition, and one-on-one coaching in an environment built for focus. Whether you're chasing a specific goal or just getting started, you'll find a trainer here who fits you.

The Firm is for everyone — from first-timers to lifelong athletes. If you're ready to put in the work, we've got a trainer and a community ready to back you.

He holds a degree in Health and Exercise Science, and as a former Rowan University football player and Eastern Regional High School graduate he brings competitive experience alongside the coaching credentials.

Often described as a “Swiss Army knife,” he has coached hundreds of athletes across a wide range of sports — from Division III through Power 5 Division I and on to professionals — as well as people who simply want to get stronger, healthier and more capable. His programming brings together strength and conditioning, athletic performance, mobility, recovery and nutritional guidance, built around the individual rather than a one-size-fits-all template.

He also coaches online and virtually, so clients can get individualized programming and accountability from anywhere. Outside of coaching he still competes — Spartan races, bodybuilding, and semi-professional outdoor and arena football — practising what he teaches: prepare with purpose, train intelligently, and keep raising the standard.

Glutes

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything people ask before their first visit. Still stuck? Call us at (856) 988-7155.

Do I need a membership to train with a personal trainer?
Yes — but it’s discounted. Clients training with one of our trainers pay $35/month instead of the standard $40/month rate. Your training sessions are billed separately by your trainer, since each of them sets their own rates and runs their own business here. Reach out to a trainer directly from our Meet the Trainers page, or call us and we’ll match you with the right fit.
Can someone under 18 train at The Firm?
Yes — members under 18 are welcome here. A parent or guardian needs to be present to sign the membership agreement and waiver at sign-up, and that applies to everything: memberships, the free trial, class reservations, and single day passes. Bring the parent or guardian with you on the first visit and we’ll take care of it at the front desk in a couple of minutes.
Do you offer a free trial?
Yes — first-time visitors get a free 3-day trial with full access to the gym floor. Claim your free trial here. No commitment, and it’s the easiest way to find out whether The Firm is the right fit before you join.
What are your hours?
Monday–Thursday 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM · Friday 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM · Saturday 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM · Sunday 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
Where are you located and is there parking?
We’re in Crispin Square at 230 N Maple Ave, Suite G5-8, Marlton, NJ 08053. There’s free parking in the shopping center lot right outside our door.
What’s the difference between semi-private and large group classes?
Both run out of Apex, our training studio inside The Firm. Semi-private classes are capped at six people and built around one specialty — abs and core, glutes, athletics, Pilates, or yoga — so you get personal-training attention at a group price. Large group classes are bigger, run six days a week (two a day Monday through Thursday, one on Friday and Saturday), and are unlimited with an Apex founding membership.
How do I sign up for a membership?
You can join online in a couple of minutes through our member portal, or stop in and we’ll get you set up at the front desk. Either way you’ll get a check-in code and a quick walkthrough of the space on your first visit.
Do you have a referral program?
Yes — refer a friend and you both get one month free once they join. Bring them in on a Saturday as your free guest to show them around first, or point them to our free 3-day trial.
Are there discounts?
Yes — we offer couples, family, and student rates, plus discounts for military and first responders. Ask at the front desk or give us a call and we’ll find the best rate for your situation.
I’ve never trained before. Is this place for me?
Absolutely. The Firm is for everyone from first-timers to lifelong athletes. Because our trainers work with clients one-on-one and our semi-private classes cap at six, beginners get more attention here than they would at a big-box gym — not less.
Do you have any free tools I can use?
Yes — our Fitness Tools page has a workout timer (EMOM, intervals, Tabata), a one-rep max calculator with training percentages, a macro and calorie calculator, a plate loading calculator, a warm-up set generator, and body fat and hydration estimators. All free, no signup, and the timer works right on your phone on the gym floor.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Training clothes, sneakers, a water bottle, and a towel. That’s it — no orientation class, no hoops. Come to the front desk and we’ll take care of the rest.
Can I bring a guest?
Yes — members can bring one guest free every Saturday. Any other day, a guest can train on a $10 day pass (or a $20 one-week pass). Just check them in at the front desk when you arrive.
I’m a trainer. Can I work out of The Firm?
We rent space to independent trainers on a flat monthly model — you keep 100% of what you earn, set your own rates, and run your own business under our roof. See our Trainers Wanted page for details and to inquire about availability.

Treat the result as a starting point — track your weight and energy for two to three weeks, then adjust based on what actually happens.

If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or nursing, or have a history of disordered eating, talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian before changing your intake. Want help building a plan around this? Our trainers do exactly that.

BMR & TDEE Calculator

Five ways to estimate the calories you burn at rest. Different formulas suit different bodies — pick one and stick with it.

Please fill in everything this formula needs.

Your results will appear here.

Which formula? Mifflin-St Jeor is the modern default and the one most dietitians reach for. Harris-Benedict is the older standard and tends to read slightly higher. Katch-McArdle and Cunningham work from lean body mass rather than total weight, so they’re more accurate if you’re muscular or very lean — but only if your body fat number is good. Owen uses weight alone: fast, and the least precise.

Every one of these is an estimate with real individual variation around it — two people with identical numbers can differ by a few hundred calories a day. Use the result as a starting point, track your weight and energy for two to three weeks, and adjust based on what actually happens rather than what the formula says.

One-Rep Max Calculator

Enter a set you’ve actually done. We’ll estimate your max and give you the working percentages.

Enter the weight and how many reps you completed (1–12).

Your estimated max will appear here.

Estimates use the Epley and Brzycki formulas averaged together. They’re most accurate at 1–5 reps and drift the further past that you go — a 12-rep set tells you much less about your true max than a triple does. Never test a true max alone or without warming up properly, and use a spotter or safeties on anything overhead or over your body.

Plate Loading Calculator

Target weight in, plates per side out. No mental math between sets.

Enter a target weight heavier than the bar.

Your plate loading will appear here.

Assumes standard plates: 45, 35, 25, 10, 5 and 2.5 lb (or 25, 20, 15, 10, 5, 2.5 and 1.25 kg). If we can’t hit your number exactly with what a normal gym stocks, we’ll show you the closest loadable weight.

Warm-Up Set Generator

Your working weight in, a sensible ramp-up out — enough to prepare, not enough to tire you out.

Enter your working weight.

Your warm-up sets will appear here.

Do 5–10 minutes of general movement before any of this — bike, rower, or dynamic stretching. Warm-up sets prepare the specific pattern; they don’t replace getting your body warm in the first place.

Body Fat Estimator

Four ways to estimate body fat — pick the method that matches the tools you have.

Please fill in every measurement for this method.

Your estimate will appear here.

Accuracy, honestly: tape and BMI methods carry roughly ±3–4 percentage points of error; skinfolds can get within ±3% but only with consistent technique — an unpracticed pinch is worse than a tape measure. Whichever you pick, use the same method and the same person taking the measurements every time. The trend over weeks tells you far more than any single reading.

These are estimates, not health assessments. Body fat is one data point among many, and plenty of healthy, strong people sit outside the “athletic” bands. How you’re training, sleeping, eating, and feeling matters more than the number. If you want a precise reading, ask us about a body composition scan.

Daily Water Intake

A baseline target based on your size and how hard you’re training.

Enter your bodyweight.

Your target will appear here.

This is a general baseline, not a rule. Thirst, urine colour, and how you feel are better day-to-day guides than hitting an exact number — and it is possible to drink too much, so don’t force it. Certain medical conditions and medications change fluid needs; check with your doctor if that applies to you.

For Businesses & Teams

Corporate & Team Training

Healthier staff take fewer sick days and stay longer. Stronger athletes get hurt less. We build programs for Marlton businesses and South Jersey teams — at our facility, on your schedule.

Corporate Memberships

Discounted group rates for your employees, billed to the company or directly to each employee. Simple onboarding, no per-person paperwork for you.

Team Strength & Conditioning

Sport-specific programming for youth, high school, and club teams — speed, power, and injury prevention, coached by trainers who’ve done it for decades. Athletes under 18 need a parent or guardian signature before their first session.

Wellness Workshops

On-site or at the gym: nutrition basics, desk-posture and mobility, and movement sessions your staff will actually turn up to.

Why train your team here

We’re a private facility, not a big-box gym — which means your group isn’t fighting a crowd for equipment, and your session starts when it’s scheduled to start. Our trainers are independent professionals with deep specialties, so a program gets built around your people rather than pulled off a shelf.

We’re five minutes from most of Marlton in Crispin Square, with free parking right outside — no downtown logistics, no garage validation, no excuses about the commute.
